❤️ Living Healthy ~ Being Happy ❤️
My name is Crystal. This page is about the things that I am learning on my journey from sickness to health and happiness. I hope that some of these things I have learned can help you too. I think the most important thing I have learned so far is that happiness is something we need to create within our own self. We can achieve health, happiness, and well-being by realizing we need to make some changes and by following our own path though a transformation to a better version of our self. We all have different challenges throughout different phases of our life and when we find ourselves feeling stressed, burnt out, unhappy, or even hopeless; I am here to tell you it can be better and you can find happiness.
Many of us don’t even realize we need to take a transformational journey until we experience something awful like a disease, loss, or some trauma that forces us to re-examine everything in our life. There are so many aspects of our lives that may be out of balance including our mind, body, spirituality, health, emotions, relationships, career, environments, finances, social life, family, exercise, eating habits, joy, etc. I named my site ~Feeding Your Happiness~ because I believe that all these parts of our life make up our whole being and “feeding” these parts of our life in a positive way will lead us to growing and expanding our own happiness!
This is what led me to my journey… My whole life I have dealt with being sick frequently and have had some really strange and unexplainable illnesses. For over 2 years now, I’ve had a chronic 24/7 debilitating headache that leaves me stuck in bed in the dark and away from the rest of the world. It isn’t very often that I have such a low intensity of pain that I get to join society and as life keeps going for everyone else, mine feels like it is standing still. No matter how many people are there for you, it is impossible not to feel alone. It is a struggle to stay positive when you feel so hopeless.
After seeing countless doctors and specialists with no relief, I decided I need to take my health into my own hands. Every day I am researching and learning because I am determined to get my life back. It is a challenge every day but I am still trying to find my way to healing. I believe that everything happens for a reason. We are given hardships to endure because something or possibly many things in our life are out of balance but if we stay persistent and positive, we can come out stronger and better than ever on the other side.
Although I try to focus on the positive, it is so hard not to focus on all the negative parts of being sick because it consumes your life and also the lives of those around you. This negativity also brings with it worry, fear, doubt, anxiety, depression, anger, and darkness. The more you let that darkness in, the harder it is to see the light. I have found many ways to bring the light and positivity back in and I have learned that you can’t rely on other people for this because you are the only one who can truly make yourself happy. Health and happiness is something we all strive for and in my journey to find them I am learning that health isn’t just about the food we eat and the more we nourish our whole self, the happier we become.
I am learning that disease occurs because of dis – ease in the body when something is causing it to be not at ease. I keep hearing that food is medicine and this isn’t a new concept; Hippocrates said, “Let medicine be thy food and let food be thy medicine”. Part of my journey is to find the best way of eating for me which may be different for you because we are all individuals. The best way to find what works best for you is to keep trying different ways of eating. Whole foods as found in nature and not processed in a factory or created in a lab will give our bodies the nutrients needed to thrive. Just say no to GMOs! I am also learning that having a healthy body isn’t just about what we eat but it is also about what we put on our body. The products we use on our body and the cleaning products we use are disrupting our bodies by going into our body through our bloodstream or by being inhaled through the air we breathe.
The more research I do, the more I am convinced that when something is wrong in the body, we need to look at the body as a whole to get to the root of the problem. We not only need to address our body but also our mind and spirit as well in order to achieve complete health, happiness, and well-being. We all need to take some “me” time to focus on these areas in order to transform ourselves and get back in harmony with our mind, body, and spirit so that we can live a healthy, happy, and fulfilled life.
We tend to focus so much on the past and the future but all you have is here and now. We can’t live in the past and we can’t live in the future so live now and be present in each moment. This journey of transformation is like being on a roller coaster with ups and downs and twists and turns. Sometimes it is so painful that you just want to give up and throw in the towel but those moments when you feel your heart bursting with love and joy because you know you are moving in the right direction will make it all worth it so don’t give up and always keep moving forward by being present in each and every moment.
